ELIGIBILITY FOR TAKING CSS EXAM
Both male and female candidates can appear in the CSS exam if they fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- NATIONALITY
The candidate must be a citizen of Pakistan or a permanent resident of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
- EDUCATION
- The candidate must hold at least a 2nd division (or grade C) Bachelor’s Degree in any faculty from one of the universities in Pakistan or an equivalent qualification from a foreign university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad.
- A candidate who has obtained a 3rd division (or grade D) in their Bachelor’s Degree will be eligible for the exam if they have obtained at least a 2nd division in their Master’s degree.
- AGE LIMIT
The age limit for candidates is 21 to 30 years, which can be relaxed by 2 years (up to 32 years) for persons who are already in government service and have completed at least two years of service. Age relaxation (up to 2 years) is also available to candidates who belong to scheduled castes, the Buddhist community, and those who live in remote areas as defined by FPSC.
- DISABLED CANDIDATES
Disabled candidates (in categories of physical impairment, hearing/speech impairment, and visual impairment) are allowed to take the exam against four Occupational Groups/Services, which are:
- Commerce & Trade Group
- Pakistan Audit & Accounts Service
- Information Group
- Postal Group
They must fulfill the eligibility criteria of education and age limit as mentioned above. Disabled candidates securing a position against the prescribed 7.5% merit quota on an all-Pakistan basis may be considered for allocation to the Foreign Service of Pakistan based on their choice.
PLACES OF THE EXAMINATION
The examination is held simultaneously at the following centers depending on the number of applicants for each location: Abbottabad, Bahawalpur, D.I. Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Gujranwala, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Karachi, Khuzdar, Lahore, Larkana, Multan, Muzaffarabad, Okara, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Sialkot, Skardu, and Sukkur.
- PLACES OF INTERVIEWS:
The interviews will be held in the following cities: Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, and Quetta.
